What is Concrete Batching Plant?

[#Rating#]

Also known as a batch plant, a batching plant is a device in which the ingredients used to create concrete are combined and blended. The blended concrete mixture is directly transported to the job site with the use of a truck mixer and is immediately used once it arrives at the construction site, a strategy that can often save time and money.

In some instances, the batching plant is established as a temporary facility rather than a permanent plant operation. When this is the case, the actual location of a concrete batching plant is often somewhat close to the construction site. The idea is to use the ready concrete easily and maximize the use of space and time and avoid unnecessary delays in the progress of the construction.

A typical batching plant will include a mixer which is used for mixing the aggregates, water, cement, and other admixtures, and its size depend on the project and construction site.

Along with the mixer, the batching plant will also include an aggregate weighing feeder which is used for storage of the ingredients and exact weighing of them. We can produce strong concrete on the base of construction principles by using this system.

Batching plants are divided to two groups of wet and dry.

In wet batching plants all ingredients are combined in the same time and the ready concrete is then transferred to the construction site. The concrete which is produced by this way is consistent and uniform.

But in dry batching plants all ingredients are combined except for water and mixture is then discharged into a truck mixer. Water is then added to the mixture in the truck and the mixing is done during transportation to the job site.

Batching plants are manufactured in different models with various capacities and sizes according to customers' needs.

Different types of batching plant include stationary concrete batching plant, mobile batching plant and portable batching plant.
